Aloha friends!
With the close margin of separation and the uncertainty of the remaining vote count, we still had hope for a victory. The votes came up just a little short of becoming an elected official! Wow, thank you to those who voted for me and put your trust in me! While I’m still praying what the next steps for me look like, I will continue to be active in the community.
In the last week, we’ve continued to reflect on all of the “victories” and deposits of valuable lessons gained on the campaign journey. If God can use an ordinary person like me, we know He can use anyone of us to make a difference wherever He has placed us and wherever He wants to reposition us. The bigger picture is still there, and the journey has just begun in many ways. I pray that through this endeavor He has also touched each of you to be moved to action, and use your special gifts and talents to be a part of God’s desire to reach out and influence our society and our fellow man. That is our ultimate victory!
Thank you to each of you who came alongside us! We could not have done this alone, and we’re so thankful and blessed for the body and family for your support in every way – prayers, words of encouragement, donations, tea pieces, preparing yard signs, helping put up banners, sign waving, canvassing, going door to door, sharing with other friends and relatives about our candidacy, and probably more that I’ve missed. Special thanks to my awesome beautiful wife, Joy, and daughters, Taryn and Charis! It is only because of Jesus in my life and the work that He’s done for me, that I could receive their complete support and belief in me. They inspired me profoundly, and being able to be connected and work together with them in such a meaningful way was a special bonding gift from our loving Father.
Congratulations to my opponent, Micah Aiu, and the rest of the elected officials. I hope that we can continue to all partner together to work towards the goal of a better Hawaii regardless of position, party, or title.
Mahalo and blessings,
